What problem(s) are you working to solve?
Increasing women of color in STEM careers. Raising up the voices of women of color in various fields.
What makes the Minneapolis and Saint Paul region (MSP) a great place to grow your career?
There is a core of people of color here that are doing great work, in all different fields.
What do you think surprises people about MSP?
We have more people of color than I expected—large Hmong and Native American communities and the largest Somali community in the U.S.
What advice do you have for women engineers starting in their careers?
Reach out and find a mentor. You can learn from people that are at different companies; they may have a fresh perspective. Also, you can even learn from bad managers, even if it is just what NOT to do.
