Congrats, you’re now playing broomball

Imagine you’re playing hockey, and time stops. We replace your puck with a blaze orange mini soccer ball, replace your stick with a crappy broom from your kitchen closet, and replace your skates with giant sponge shoes that force you to waddle around like a penguin stepping out on the ice for the very first time. Congratulations, you are now playing broomball, the coldest and funniest segue to a happy hour you’ll find anywhere.

Minnesota is full of adventure in the winter

Minnesota is full of adventure in the winter! Water skis are traded in for cross-country skis—my favorite winter pastime. Last winter I skied on Lake Superior for the first time. Seeing how the ice froze over the lake was incredible. It was silent except for listening the ice shift as we cruised along the lake admiring stunning homes on the cliffs and the great ice caves.
I’m not a snow sport type of gal, so I like to stay inside

I’m not a snow sport type of gal, so I like to stay inside and catch up on plays and theater events. Winter is the perfect time to go to a play, watch an opera or my favorite yearly classic “A Christmas Carole” as the Guthrie.
