My family, especially my kids, love to go sledding and build snowmen. Last year for Christmas my son got a snowman kit with a fake carrot nose and buttons. He cannot wait to build a snowman with the first big snow this year! They also love going to get our Christmas tree. My son loves to wear his snow boots, snow or no snow, and tromp through the snow to pick the perfect one. Christmas just isn’t the same without snow.

Call me Minnesotan… But I really enjoy helping strangers get their cars unstuck from the snow.

I love walks around Lake of the Isles, Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet in Minneapolis. There’s nothing like the winter wonderland scenes of runners, dog walkers, ice skaters and cross-country skiers. Being right in the city, you can even catch some great downtown skyline views. The paths around the lakes are cleared even on the snowiest days. Sometimes, there’s even bike riders cruising the lakes.
