The annual Art-A-Whirl festival in Northeast Minneapolis

Art-A-Whirl is a three-day open studio tour in Northeast Minneapolis that has become the largest event of its kind in the country. This year it’s being held Friday through Sunday, May 19th -21st, and every year it seems like the whole neighborhood becomes a venue for showcasing the great art, music, food, and drink that can be found there. It’s a seriously bike-friendly event, and the sense of community, the people, and the overall vibe have made it my favorite warm weather event in the area.

I’m super excited for street fairs and farmers markets! For street fairs, I always look forward to Grand Old Day in St. Paul, Open Streets, and Aquatennial. I usually go on an adventure run to a farmers market (Mill City Farmers Market, Minneapolis Farmers Market, or Linden Hills) on the weekends as well.
For more on local farmers markets, check out this handy guide from the Star Tribune.

I am looking forward to the Minnesota State Fair. I always appreciate the opportunity to enjoy the great food Minnesota has to offer, particularly my favorite, the fried turkey leg!
